HISTORY

The Firm has its roots from Panganiban Benitez Parlade & Africa or PABLAW, which was renamed in 1996 as Benitez Parlade Africa Herrera Parlade & Panga, when one of its founding partners, Atty. Artemio Panganiban, was appointed as Associate Justice, and later Chief Justice, of the Supreme Court of the Philippines.

The retirement in December 2004 of two senior partners of PABLAW, Justice Oscar Herrera and Commissioner Leopoldo Africa, prompted four of PABLAW’s senior partners to organize a new partnership. Originally organized as the PARLADE HILDAWA PARLADE & ECO Law Offices (PHPELAW), spearheaded by Claro V. Parlade, Simeon Hildawa, Ma. Cymbeline Borres-Parlade, and Rolando O. Eco, the firm has been reorganized as PARLADE HILDAWA PARLADE ECO & PANGA (PHPEPLAW) upon the return to the partnership of Salvador S. Panga, Jr. Dean Custodio O. Parlade, a legal luminary, renowned international arbitrator and noted author, serves as the firm’s Of Counsel.
